Hi, I’m Olivia
Beyond capturing visual media, my skills encompass a wide range of communication expertise. I've spent years working with large data sets and various software to analyze and interpret what information that data might hold quickly. With an artistic eye, I can concisely provide that information to colleagues, customers or the public by creating thought-provoking graphic design pieces.
When I first entered the world of photojournalism, the "journalism" part of my career did not initially interest me. That quickly changed after I began my professional reporter career at The Hutchinson News. My editor there, Alice Mannette, taught me how impactful and simply enjoyable writing can be.
From there, my reporting career grew. I trained and achieved an FAA UAS-107 drone pilot license at Kansas State University, which aided in creating impactful imagery for my stories — alongside many adventures into the Kansas prairie for sunset images in and around Reno County.
Once The Hutchinson News terminated my position, my subsequent career in photojournalism began at Salina Post, where I wrote stories daily, captured impactful community events and made meaningful connections with the local citizens.
My main inspiration for photography and other visual media is the endless streams of documentaries I watched as a child. Today, I strive to capture history like National Geographic while making real-time impacts in the communities I serve.
